Power Couple

These two multitaskers have been the foundation of my make up routine this winter. In the colder months I like to wear a more substantial base than I do in summer. Recently, I have been unable to put down the Hourglass Vanish Seamless Stick Foundation! This is sold as a full coverage foundation but used sparingly I would say this gives a nice medium coverage which can be built up to full. The formula boasts a high level of pigmentation which means a mannequin-like peaches and cream complexion can be achieved without looking overly made up. The two in one foundation and concealer is so easy to use; simply dot onto the face and blend with fingers, a brush or damp beauty blender. It’s also easily portable and super quick for touch ups on the go without mess or fuss. I am in love with this nifty little stick which can also be used for contouring and highlighting by using a slightly darker or lighter shade than your skin tone. Another added bonus is that the sleek pyramid packaging makes for major makeup eye candy! The range has 32 shades and ‘alabaster’ matches my fair/light skin ton

I am currently reaching for the vanish stick daily, but the one drawback I find is that it can cling to dry patches (which I have recently started experiencing in winter). Obviously exfoliating regularly and diligently moisturising helps with this. I also recently received a deluxe sample of Bobbi Brown’s Vitamin Enriched Face Base in a beauty box which has been a game changer.

Another multitaker; this cream does double duty as both a primer and a moisturer. Since I’m not a much of a morning person, I love anything that makes getting ready faster! The shea butter in this makes my skin feel really nourished; I love smoothing it on before braving the elements and really feel like I am giving my skin some protection against the ravages of winter. The vanish stick smooths on like a dream after using this base. I didn’t have high hopes for it’s priming abilities as this feels more like a moisturiser. I was extremely pleasantly surprised to find that it actually makes my make up last longer than any other primer I’ve tried! The delicious scent reminds me of lemon meringue pie (I hold Bobbi Brown wholly responsible for the one I bought yesterday!). I will definitely want the full size when my sample pot is empty.

Rocking my current go to combo:
