I love having the opportunity to snap up some luxe for less, so couldn’t resist a peek at the Birchbox summer sale!! Here’s what I picked up:
Verveine d’Huygens Body Milk
This body milk was the first thing I put in my basket. I am a huge fan of Huygens and am obsessed with their signature citrusy scent. This lotion was reduced from £21 to just £12.60. The product thoroughly lived up to my expectations of the brand. Its light, milky texture and zesty scent makes this the perfect summer body lotion. Despite its lightweight consistency this product offers great moisturisation. The only drawback I am anticipating is that it will be difficult to get the body milk out of the bottle when it is close to empty. I think that this is a fantastic buy for the price if you are wanting to treat yourself or someone else to a luxury body product. I’m tempted to buy another bottle…
Supergoop Anti-Aging City Sunscreen Serum SPF30
I love multitasking products, so this anti aging serum and spf in one has been on my radar for a while. I like to treat and protect my skin but don’t always have the time or inclination to layer on a lot of products. The sale gave me a great excuse to pick up this hybrid for £22.75 rather than the usual £35. This serum contains vitamins to protect the skin from free radical damage as well as spf 30 to guard against the sun’s rays. The silky formula sinks into skin easily and leaves a glow that doesn’t look greasy. The directions advise that this be used as a base for other products. It is important to stick to this recommendation; I once applied this over an essence and experienced some piling. This is great daily staple and will last a long time as the tube contains a really generous 60ml of serum.
Cynthia Rowley Beauty Brightening Illuminator
I received a sample of this pink illuminator in a birchbox and loved it, so was delighted to snap up the full size for half price (£14). This pearlescent liquid highlighter gives a beautiful, glowy finish. I find this product comparable to YSL’s Touché Éclat but with more opacity. This is one of my favourite highlighters and I have tried a lot of highlighters!!
Wild About Beauty Creme Eyeshadow
My preference is for cream over powder makeup, so when I saw this half price (£6.50) shadow in shade 2 Edna I couldn’t resist popping it in my basket! This shadow is not super pigmented, but I like subtle eyeshadows for daytime. It contains a delicate shimmer which is perfect for a pretty low key eye look.
