To celebrate birchbox turning 5 in the UK this month’s theme is ‘Tea Party’. Instead of the standard box I received this lovely ‘birch-tin’ which I will definitely repurpose as storage after using my goodies.

Whittards Tea Bags
The most important component of any tea party comes courtesy of Whittards. My tin contained lemon and ginger, Earl Grey and Mango and Bergamot tea bags.
Number 4 Jour d’autome Smoothing Balm
This smoothing balm is designed for thick, course hair and is too heavy for my fine locks. I will pass this one along to a friend.
Velvety Sun Fluid Face & Body SPF30
It’s rare I come across a facial sunscreen (though this one can be used on the body too) that feels nice on the skin. This velvety fluid really lives up to its name. The soybean and sunflower oils this contains also have skin softening properties. What a multitasker!! This trial size is so handy to pop in by bag when I’m on the go.
Lord & Berry Strobing Highlighter Pencil
I have never seen a highlighter in this form. A pencil highlighter is a great way to precisely add light to the inner corner of the eyes, under the brow bone and the cupids bow. The fine point on this pencil does mean that it is tricky to highlight larger areas such as cheek bones with this.
Benefit the POREfessional Pearl Primer
The newest version of the popular primer has the edition of radiance. This gives skin a brightening effect as well as filing in pores.
Ella Eden Compact Eyeshadow in Shade Julia
This pressed mineral eyeshadow packs a lot of pigmentation and shimmer. I would never have purchased a pink eyeshadow but I tried this one out and think it looks really pretty. That’s the great thing about these sample services; they can lead to finds you wouldn’t have come across otherwise. This shade also doubles as a highlighter. This shadow can be used wet for a more intense colour payoff.
Overall this was a great box for me this month aside from the hair product. Here I am wearing all the hair and make up products from the box:
