La Mer: Foundation Reviews

The brand that skincare dreams are made of branched out into colour cosmetics a few years back. Both of La Mer’s foundations share many common features; both boast skincare benefits as they are formulated with the iconic miracle both, both contain an spf but neither have any flashback, both are long wearing and both make the skin look beautiful. The main difference lies in the coverage they provide:

The Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation SPF20

The liquid foundation offers buildable coverage yet feels weightless on the skin no matter how much is applied. If I could only wear one foundation for the rest of my life I would choose this. The soft fluid requires almost no blending and melts into the skin for a seamless finish that does not excentuate any lines or dry patches. Skin appears naturally radiant and flawlessly smooth. This is the foundation I always use when I am getting ready to see my boyfriend as it makes me look like the best version of myself.

The Luminous Lifting Cushion Foundation SPF20

The cushion version is even lighter in consistency than the fluid. Although this is also billed as having buildable coverage, I can only get up to light coverage (as tends to be the case with cushion foundations in general). Any imperfections will therefore peek through so I would recommend this for good skin days and or warmer weather. This blends into skin easily and gives a natural, luminous finish. The all-in-one compact is great for on the go.
