This month birchbox have teamed up with Etsy. 10 sellers on the platform have designed beautiful boxes and birchbox customers are entitled to a 15% discount for each of their stores until the 14th of September. Here’s what I received:
Philosophy Purity 3-in-1 Cleanser
This is the number one selling cleanser in America and winner of the Allure readers choice award for one step cleanser for 10 years. This fragrance free formula feels nice on the skin and is non drying whilst eliminating make up and deep cleaning pores. A variety of natural oil extracts help condition skin. This little bottle is great for my gym bag and has a value of £3.
Rituals The Ritual of Happy Buddha Foaming Shower Gel
This little tin also came to the gym with me! The orange and cedar scent is both citrusy fresh yet earthy at the same time. I love foaming gels for upping the luxe factor of a shower. The product value of this sample is £2.12.
Dirty Little Secret Eyeshadow Stick
I love stick eyeshadow pencils because they are so quick and easy to use. This full size pencil retails for £10.50, which is more than the cost of the box!! The shade I received, ‘fetch’, doesn’t have a great deal of pigment but it is creaseless and could be used as a base for other eye colours. I used it as a subtle brow bone and inner corner highlight:
Dr Botanicals Pomegranate Regenerative Sleeping Mask
I usually like to do a multi-step skin care routine in the evening, but if I’m limited on time or feeling lazy, I sometimes just slap on a night mask and call it a day. Birchbox have hooked me up with full size sleeping mask for nights like that. This pomegranate sleeping mask is highly rated on the site. The antioxidant rich formula is designed to nourish thirsty, dull skin throughout the night. I agree with the many birchbox users that found their skin felt smooth the next morning after using this product. Dr Botanicals recommend using this mask 2-3 times per week. This full size 30ml tube retails for £14.90. Again more than the price of the birchbox!!
CLĒ Cosmetics Melting Lip Powder
This lip powder is tricky to control and be precise with. It can also be used a a blush, however I recommend applying sparingly on the cheeks as a little goes a very long way and the product moved my foundation around. I think this powder is a bit gimmicky and am not super keen on it. In the picture below I’m wearing the powder as blush and on my lips. I did not enjoy the matte finish which didn’t feel very comfortable so I applied a Clinique balm in a similar colour (chubby stick in Chunky Cherry) over the top. My friend did however complement me on my lip colour that day and as with most matt lip colours this one is pretty long lasting. I received the cherry red shade of powder and the mini tube is worth £6.75.
Overall a good box this month with a value of £37.27. This is a great deal as the price of the box is just £10 + £2.95 P&P.
