Summery Samples

August is almost over and so is your chance to get your hands on this month’s Birchbox. In keeping with its mermaid theme all the samples inside have been specially picked to help us achieve a beach goddess vibe.
Here are my thoughts on this month’s box:

Vita Coco Coconut Oil
I feel like sample services are all about trying new things and at this point we all know about the many virtues of coconut oil. This mini will come in handy for travel though. Size 50ml RRP £2.99.

 
Spectrum A05 Brush
I’ve been meaning to pick up a brush this shape for a while so was delighted to find this in my birchbox! A tapered brush is perfect for adding a powder contour and this one looks pretty too!! The Spectrum A05 retails for £6.99.

LOC One & Done Shadow Stick in Out Of Your Shell
My preference is for blendable, creamy make up formulas over powders, so I was happy to receive this full sized eyeshadow pencil. This pearl shade is perfect for quickly and easily highlighting the inner corner and brow bone. RRP £8.

 
Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Dry Oil Shimmer
I’m a big fan of shimmery, bronze oils and Nuxe’s version is fantastic (rivalled only by Nars Body Glow). I am really happy to have this mini for travelling. I love using this to enhance a tan with a gorgeous, golden sheen. This blend of five plant oils smells great too. Value: £3.40.

Number 4 Sugar Texturising Spray
I like to avoid using heat on my hair whenever possible so am always interested in products that can be used when air drying hair (the best I have found by far is the bumble and bumble (h)air styler, btw). Also, I have never seen a hair product containing sugar so was intrigued by this. I tried this a few times and it makes my hair sticky no matter how lightly I spritz it on. Maybe there’s a reason why I’ve never seen a sugar based hair product before!! Value: £4.14.
