I am obsessed with that radiant, angelic looking glow that can be achieved with highlighter. Here are some products that can help nail that celestial look:
YSL Touché Éclat
The one that started it all. The pink toned 01 shade is perfect for my fair skin. It brightens up the dark circles under eye area like nothing else I’ve tried and highlights my cheek and brow bones beautifully. The pearlescent pink glow elevates make up to give skin a really expensive look. This liquid is super easy to blend into the skin. I brush this on with the applicator then pat in with fingers and blend with a small oval brush if necessary.
Nars Highlighting Blush
I’ve read that this is Kim Karashian’s highlighter of choice. This makes total sense to me; the shade ‘Albatross’ is full blown glam. There is nothing subtle about this highlight. I would sweep this gold toned highlighter across my cheekbones with a fan brush for a big night out.
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter
This powder’s shimmer is very finely milled so it doesn’t look
glittery. Here I am wearing the shade ‘Moonstone’ which is a cool toned gold. I take care to let my foundation dry first as this powder can get patchy when applied over liquid formulas. Again I dust this over the cheekbones using a fan brush.
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid Highlighter
Becca’s liquid formula has a subtle shimmer. Here I am wearing the shade ‘Opal’ which is a warm gold tone. I think that liquid highlighters look more natural than powders (I tend to lean towards natural looking makeup), although I find they have less staying powder on my skin which seems to eat makeup!! Blend into the skin with a damp make up sponge for best results.
Collating the pics of me wearing the various highlighters has made me realise that I always point the left side of my face towards the camera; just call me Ariana!!
