Three Great: Finishing Powders

I like to use a finishing powder when I am going for a polished, sophisticated make up look. Here are three of my favourites:

Nars Light Reflecting Loose Setting Powder

A long time favourite of mine; this powder has been described as the closest thing to real life airbrushing. A velvety veil of this translucent powder gives skin a soft focus glow. Fine lines and wrinkles are blurred and the complexion is brightened.

Guerlain Météorites Illuminating Powder Pearls

imageMétéorites is that finishing touch which gives skin an angelic, ethereal glow. This powder contains shimmer, however the pieces are very small so you won’t look like a disco ball. These colour correcting pearls also do a great job of unifying the skin tone. I have fair skin and wear shade 2 Clair. The pearls smell exactly like parma violets which is another plus in my opinion!

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder

The concept behind this collection of powders is to mimic the most flattering types of light on the skin. I purchased dim light as the reviews I read suggested that this shade is the most universally flattering. The effect is subtle but beautiful. It really elevates make up and gives a touch of movie star glow. I am keen to add some of the other shades to my collection.

What’s your favourite finishing powder?
